Knowlton Machine Engineering has always operated upon the belief that the worth of any organization is determined primarily by the people who comprise it. This is the premise upon which KME has built its reputation and will secure its future.  We currently employ approximately fifty, full-time employees of widely diverse skills; all of whom understand that service, quality, and efficiency are paramount to our continued success, and who are empowered to achieve those goals.
In addition to two shifts of machinists and fabricators, the skilled KME work force also consists of engineers, quality control inspectors, and machinery assemblers.  All of these people regularly work ten hours per shift and have been cross-trained to be proficient in multiple skills.
The Engineers, Designers, and CNC Programmers employed at KME have a breadth of experience with the construction and application of mechanical systems, and are extremely well versed in the Design / Build concept of custom machinery manufacturing, as well as production machining. Also, our Control Systems department personnel are experts in computerized controls as well as hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Although our purchasing department consists of only one full-time purchasing agent, the nature of our business requires that all of our engineers directly participate in this activity. It has also been our policy to form strong relationships with many of our vendors in order to build a network of suppliers who could be relied upon to perform to our expectations.  In turn, this demonstration of mutual loyalty has been a major factor in our ability to perform well for our clientele.
