BLANKET FLOCKING MACHINES ..........

Goal:
To produce three, state-of-the-art automated systems to be installed in a new plant being built in Alabama.
Challenges:
The existing machines were not only antiquated, but so many modifications had been made to them that no drawings were available. The entirety of the mechanical portion of the machine had to be reverse engineered, and then re-engineered to meet modern standards.
The remote location of the final destination of these automated systems, combined with the fact that their shear size prevented full assembly and test at our facility, allowed little room for error.
Solution:
KME deployed its experienced staff of engineers and designers to first fully evaluate the existing machine in order to document the exact state of that hardware, and then those engineers were tasked with not only designing a state-of-the-art manufacturing system which surpassed all established standards, but also designed the machines as subsystems which could be fully tested in our facility, and then later assembled on-site.

Result:
This customer was able to have its new, southern manufacturing facility in full operation well prior to its original schedule.
